Ways to Donate

There are many ways to support us.  Thrift store donations are always welcome.  You can donate in person and you can volunteer your time.  Click the link above if you want to make a one time or recurring donation online.  Every bit helps and will help fund our food purchases, rent, insurance, gas, maintenance and repairs.

Qualified Charitable Distributions
(QCD)

Retired and facing RMD taxes?  When you make a charitable contribution to a qualifying public charity you can lower the amount of your taxable income for each year.  This is great for seniors 70.5 and older who want to donate and are being taxed on  Required Minimum Distributions (RMD"s) from their retirement plans.  You can direct your broker to send a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) to the Dawson Community Food Bank and not pay ordinary income taxes on those distributions.  Limits apply.  Contact us for details and as always please consult with your financial advisor or CPA.

Tax Deductible Donations

Starting in 2026 (OBBB Act) you can deduct up to $1,000  (Single) or $2,000 (Married Filing Jointly) from your taxes even if you do not itemize deductions.  Taxpayers can now claim an "above the line" deduction for cash contributions to public charities like the Dawson Community Food Bank.
